Hi, I’m Renée Rivers, LMHC. I am a trauma-informed, systems-oriented clinician committed to helping people understand not just what they feel, but how and why those patterns were formed. My work integrates clinical depth with relational presence, cultural awareness, and practical sustainability, because healing doesn’t happen in isolation, and enduring change grows out of safety, meaning, and intentional practice.

I believe people aren’t “broken.” They are responding, based on early environments, attachment experiences, and their nervous systems’ best efforts to protect them. When we understand why those adaptations developed, and how they continue to shape thoughts, emotions, and relationships — we can begin to transform them with clarity, compassion, and resilience.

My approach is grounded in:

  • Trauma-informed care: Understanding how past threat and stress impact the nervous system and relational patterns.

  • Attachment and relational neuroscience: Exploring how early relationships shape emotional regulation, safety, and connection in adulthood.

  • Systems thinking: Recognizing that people exist within families, cultures, and environments, and that those systems influence identity, behavior, and meaning.

This means I don’t focus only on symptoms. I help people discern where patterns began, how they persist, and how new, sustainable responses can be practiced, slowly, with safety and support. Insight, in my work, is the beginning of change, not the end.

"Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens."

Therapy offers a space for reflection, helping you heal, rebuild, and create the life you deserve.

I invite clients into work that is:

  • Collaborative: You are the expert in your life, I’m here to help you make sense of it skillfully.

  • Compassionate: There are no “quick fixes,” and there should be no judgment.

  • Practical: We don’t just explore meaning, we develop new habits and nervous system experiences that stick.

Therapy is not about managing a mess. It’s about understanding how that mess was made and helping the nervous system learn a different rhythm of safety, connection, and choice.
